Abstract
Branding discourse is considered within the framework of the dictemic theory developed by Professor M.Y. Blokh. Analyzed in comparison with imaginative literature and propaganda, branding texts are presented as an independent variety of advertising genre, close to propaganda in its objective and based on employing imaginative language with its stylistic inventory to fulfill the differential genre function of creating the artificial value image of an object in consumer's mind. Branding texts may be subdivided into non-categoric and categoric types, a special inductive dictemic type being present in the latter.

Abstract
Problems connected with comprehension of a literary text in the translating language from the point of view of reader's understanding words-realia are analyzed in the article on the material of Arthur Conan Doyle's well-known novel The Hound of the Baskervilles. It's also stated that this process is influenced both by the translator's choice of the method of presenting this part of lexis while rendering the original and the degree of the recipients' cultural "awareness" of the reality reflected in it. Along with this, one should take into consideration the time the particular translation is done, since it may influence the way of rendering realia.
