Abstract
The aim of the article is a structural analysis of the literary presentation of the homily, which is the main genre of religious communication. The research demonstrates that the kernel of spiritual message is formed by aphorization falling into the two main semantic and syntactic units, namely an aphorism and maxim. Aphorism tersely suggests a wise idea, maxim tersely expresses morally instructive idea. Both types of statements in the context of the corresponding God-inspired utterances serve as a powerful stylistic device. The research is concluded by a suggested typology of the shown aphorized statements.

Abstract
The paper dwells on the analysis of various characteristics of modern language teaching terms. The significance of the research is accounted for by the development of special lexemes due to new tendencies in the language teaching. The chief aims are to study structural and semantic features of terms in term-using, term-creating and term-fixing texts, and to analyse terminological dictionaries in several languages. Such methods as the analysis of discourse, dictionary entries, as well as structural-semantic analysis and qualitative methods, etc. are used to reveal certain key types of terminological variation at different levels of the German language. Theoretical and practical impact and research novelty of the investigation consist in the detection of some extra- and intralinguistic specific features of language teaching terminology development (abbreviation, internationalisation, thematic expansion, etc.), and the description of the authors’ lexicographic project.

Abstract
The article dwells on the features of linguistic metamodelling the character in critical publications on D. H. Lawrence novel “Sons and Lovers” in the XX and the beginning of the XXI century. The author conducted a lexico-semantic and linguostylistic analysis of the main conceptual fields that correlate with the interpretation of the novel key characters. The study found that the main concepts underlying the creation of the language metamodel of the novel’s key characters are the principles of oppositionality and duality. The duality principle contributes to the variability of the estimated component of the character image. The research was done at the crossroads of linguistic and literary approaches to concept as a mental model.

Abstract
The priority in the article is given to the application of the methods of cognitive-pragmatic analysis including elements of the following methods: the constructive (modeling) and the general philological (identification, interpretive). The author’s discourse is interpreted as a means of access to observable and hidden cognitive processes, mental spheres, objectified with the help of linguocognitive combinatorics. The article gives an example of constructing a conceptual model of meaning generation based on the identification of the relationship between the components of the GLAUBE concept and the external integrity, resulting in the presentation of the effect of integrating the relevant knowledge about the meaning as systematic qualities defining not only the author’s language consciousness phenomenon but the recipient’s rationalization of the meanings implicitly present in the author’s discourse text. The results of the study can be used in university theoretical courses on the theory of discourse and cognitive linguistics.

Abstract
The article discusses genre and linguistic-stylistic features of prose poems by two distinguished writers - German language authors R. M. Rilke and E. M. Remarque. The comparative analysis revealed main characteristics of these works, including lack of metro-rhythmic patterns, a subjective description of reality, laconic expressions, excessive expressiveness, the abundance of figurative and stylistic means in a small text-space. The theoretical significance of the work is determined by the introduction into the scientific circulation of unpublished works by E. M. Remarque, a contribution to the development of methodology for comparing works by different authors. Practical significance lies in the possible use of these materials in courses on the history of literature, linguostylistic text analysis, and stylistics of the German language.

Abstract
The article has a cultural linguistics perspective and aims at reconstructing the old Germaniс world view in which the concept health was formed and evolved. By way of etymological reconstruction the article explores and defines the motivational models which laid the foundation of the concept health in old Germanic languages. Special consideration is given to the semantics of the Proto-Germanic base *haila- and its derivational nouns with the meaning “health” in Old Icelandic and Old English. Finally, the Old English greeting formula wes þū hāl is analysed from the standpoint of its pragmatic elements as they are realized in Old English poetic texts and charms. The linguistic conclusions are supported by the insight into the main evolutional stages of the archaic notions of health in the context of human world view as such, where the earlier cosmological perceptions of health undergo a gradual change to being recategorized in religious thinking.

РАЗДЕЛ III. СРАВНИТЕЛЬНО-ИСТОРИЧЕСКОЕ И СОПОСТАВИТЕЛЬНОЕ ЯЗЫКОЗНАНИЕ

Abstract
The aim of the article is to identify and systematize the causes of communicative socio-pragmatic failures in questions arising in communication, as well as to formulate recommendations for the problem solution. The author conducted the research using wide range of factual material (chosen from the media). The research methods are comparative-historical, empirical, cognitive and observational methods. Improving the skills of linguistic pragmatism is extremely important for the development of the country. The study shows that socio-pragmatic failures are caused mainly by cultural differences. In cross-cultural communication, the addressee may tolerate a grammatical error, but not a pragmatic failure. Thus, it is necessary to know the culture of a native speaker, improve the possibilities of cross-cultural communication, and thus become a more effective communicator. The theoretical significance of the study lies on an attempt to present a comprehensive analysis of cross-cultural pragmatics on the basis of languages of different systems and to identify the factors leading to failure in cross-cultural communication. Practical significance is determined by the possibility of using the results in language teaching and improving cross-cultural skills.
