Abstract
Aim. To show that the national character is formed with the help of the national language through the values and cultural attitudes stored in it. Methodology. General scientific methods of observation and description, analysis and synthesis, as well as partial scientific methods and procedures, including procedures for cultural interpretation, classification and systematization (in the analysis of proverbs and sayings); techniques of contextual and interpretive analysis have been used in the article. Results. As a result, we have found that the national language forms the national character through the prescriptions and attitudes of culture, its values, which are reflected in the linguistic material. Research implications. The theoretical significance lies in the proof of the idea: the language has captured and preserved in its depths the image of a person in all the hypostases: the physical side of human being, the spiritual essence, and the worldview, actions and character. The study of character through the prism of language has practical significance: it contributes to more effective intercultural communication.

Aim. This study examines the extent to which peculiarities of male and female voice influence the process of uttering informal requests in German. Methodology. The experiment conducted by the author included measuring and analyzing voice pitch frequency, volume and syllable duration in key points of the recorded utterances. Results. The theoretical significance of the study is associated with the possible use of its results in terminography, terminology and linguodidactics. The practical value can be determined by the possible use of the language material and the results of the study in teaching English lexicology and English as a foreign language.
