Song discourse of Argentine football fans through the prism of national identity

Abstract

Aim. To analyze lexical and semantic features, rhetorical means, precedent phenomena of various Argentive football fans’ compositions as a reflection of the axiological values of the Argentines, as well as to establish their intertextual links in the semiosphere of the Argentines’ identity.
Methodology. The main research methods are semantic, interpretive, linguistic and cultural analysis, cultural commentary.
Results. The author highlights how the integration of meanings, their connotations, lexical and semantic means, precedent phenomena, and rhetorical devices implements the main aesthetic message of the football fans’ song discourse which is the Argentine identity, both group (football fans) and national, as football is of great importance for the cultural space of the country.
Research implications. The article develops the paradigm of precedent philology, and its results can be applied in teaching Spanish with in-depth study of culture.
