The scientific novelty of the study lies in the consideration of abbreviated neologisms in military texts of the modern French language in the aspect of their word-formation features, which differ due to the specificity of paradigmatic relations.

Research implications. The theoretical significance of the study lies in identifying the specifics of abbreviated neologisms in the military sphere, which complements the theoretical knowledge of the formation of French terminology.

The practical significance lies in the possibility of using the results obtained in the practice of teaching in specialized military educational institutions, in the preparation of training manuals for the military professional orientation.
