THE TERM SYSTEM OF HIP-HOP DANCE IN FRENCH

Abstract
Aim. Study of the French term system of hip-hop dance from the point of view of its history, structure, lexical and semantic relations. Methodology. The research methodology is based on a combination of lexical-semantic, historical-cultological, historical-linguistic and systematic methods and approaches that allow us to characterize the term system of hip-hop dance. Results. It is shown that this term system is a multi-level structure of names of sub-styles and movements, combined in a complex technical vocabulary based on Anglo-American borrowings and French terms. Research implications. The study of a separate term system adds new theoretical data contributing to the development of terminology. The practical significance is determined by the possibility to use the data obtained in the theory and practice of teaching French in high school, as well as for compiling dictionaries of dance terms.
