ASPECTUAL SITUATIONS INVOLVING COMBINATIONS WITH FUNCTIONAL VERB KOMMEN IN THE MODERN GERMAN LANGUAGE

Abstract
Aim. The purpose of this article is to identify the aspectual peculiarities (actionsart, aspectual) combinations with the functional verb kommen in the modern German. Methodology. The analysis is focused on identifying and describing aspectual situations in which the combinations with limited functional verb kommen are kernel components. Interpretative and milti-aspect-dominant approaches were used in the process of identifying aspectual meanings. Results. The analysis of sentences with verbal-nominal constructions of analytical type, in which limited functional verb kommen acts as verbal component, showed that these constructions can form various types of aspectual situations - of terminativity, and of durativity. Research implications. The results of the research as well as the methods applied, can be used to study different types of aspectual semantics of combinations with functional verbs in different languages.
