Abstract

Aim. To establish one of the forms of occasional words’ linguocreativity in the novels by Helen Fielding “Bridget Jones's Diary” and Cecilia Ahern “Where Rainbows End”.
Methodology. We analyze multicomponent and complex occasional words in artistic discourse selected by the method of continuous sampling. Also, we use methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis, distributive and contextual analysis of the collected examples.
Results. As a result of the study, we found that multicomponent and complex occasional words are one of the forms of manifestation of linguistic creativity. They perform a number of functions where the examples presented demonstrate a creative function.
Research implications. The current study expands the understanding of the forms of linguocreativity and contributes to the theory of occasional words.
