MODAL PARTICLES IN THE SENTENCE STRUCTURE (IN GERMAN AND RUSSIAN LANGAGES)

Abstract
The Purpose of the article is to describe common and different characteristics connected with the position of modal particles in German and Russian sentence structure. Methodology and Approach. By means of descriptive and comparison methods it is shown that modal particles mark the transit from theme to rheme. Results. It is shown that in Russian modal particles with evidential semantics take the position after words which indicate the source of the information. In general both languages have similar regularities in positioning model particles in the sentence structure. The theoretical and practical implications. The article describes common characteristics of modal particles' position in communicative structure of the sentence in languages with fixed and non-fixed word order. The results of the article can be used in the course of comparative typology of German and Russian.
