Implicit language means forming the conceptual opposition Selves and Others in the political discourse of the UK and USA press

Abstract

The article is concerned with the implicit
language means which are employed to form
the conceptual opposition selves - others as an effective
method of the political discourse to influence
a recipient. The article studies how such language
means attribute a positive evaluation component to
selves and a negative one to others.
