The analyses of lexico-stylistic means used in the Lett ers from an American Farmer by St . John de Crevecoeur

Abstract

The article deals with the lexico-stylistic means
which are most frequently used by St. John de Crevecoeur in
his Letters from an American Farmer, one of the first works
of American literature where the life of northern colonies is
shown in detail. The article gives the analysis of the comparisons,
epithets, hyperboles, repetitions, and other stylistic
devices which help the author of Letters to achieve the special
expressiveness and show his attitude to the described
events.
