Abstract
Aim. To identify the peculiarities of the subject-addressee structure of the author's enigmatic texts.
Methodology. A comparative analysis of domestic and foreign researchers' approaches to the structural features of enigmatic texts has been carried out. The authors of the article used the continuous sampling method, methods of contextual and structural-semantic analysis to reveal subjects of speech, types and peculiarities of subject-addressee structure of the author's enigmatic texts.
Results. The research revealed a diversity of speech subjects in the author's enigmatic texts. The types of subject-addressee structure of enigmatic texts, with a personified enigmatic subject of speech, demonstrate the differences in the degree of linguistic interaction between a narrator and a narratee and an explicit realization of their roles in the intra-text communication.
Research implications. The findings contribute to the study of author's enigmatic texts. The linguistic material can be used in the courses on text theory, stylistics, linguopragmatics.
