Abstract
Aim. To describe the taxis functions of affixed and non-affixed deverbatives of actional semantics in Russian and Italian.
Methodology. The article analyzes Russian deverbatives ending in -ние/-ение, -тие/-ие, -ка and non-affixed names. In Italian, they correspond to deverbatives ending in -aggio/-eggio, -enza, -о, -zione/-sione, -ta. When used with temporal prepositions in both languages, deverbatives implement the taxis functions of simultaneity and non-simultaneity. The study used hypothetic-deductive, inductive, descriptive and contextual methods.
Results. The study revealed that Russian and Italian actional deverbatives with temporal prepositions implement the taxis functions of simultaneity, precedence and following.
Research implications. The article examines the issue of taxis functions of actional deverbatives of the Russian language and their Italian equivalents. The results of the study make some contribution to the theory of taxis. The results of the study can be used in a course teaching comparative typology of Russian (native) and Italian languages in higher education.
