Abstract

Aim. To identify the features of the interpretation of Russian traditional song folklore in the virtual space of the Internet through the prism of digital linguistic folkloristics.

Methodology. The empirical material was collected by the authors in the south of Western Siberia during the 30 years, incorporating Russian lyrical songs of the descendants of the first settlers and selfpropelled guns. The collected array of lyrical folk songs, reflecting the regional peculiarities of culture and worldview, allows for the formalization of folkloratives in their post-interpretative diversity. The peculiarities of interpretation of Russian traditional song folklore in a virtual environment are considered on the basis of the formalization of folklore markers based on software hardware analysis of digital linguistics.

Results. The key trends of the interpretative process are revealed. Russian traditional song folklore postinterpretation in a virtual environment makes it possible to prolong the viability of a Russian folk song, which acquires new forms and meanings under the influence of transformations of the virtual environment. Modern performers can give new sounds and meanings to songs using new audiovisual solutions for presenting Russian folk songs, actualizing issues of folklore and post-folklore. Despite the variability and oral transmission, each folk song has its own discursive space, thanks to which the interpretation and understanding of song folklore demonstrate vitality and stability even in a virtual environment.

Research implications. The presented approach opens up new opportunities for understanding and interpreting Russian folk song culture in modern conditions, identifying reference points that allow preserving and developing the ethnic-cultural heritage of the Russian people.
