Abstract
Aim. To study the specifics of the synergetic linkage of the category “evidentiality” with the modus categories “authorization”, “personality”, “temporality”, “perception” in the discursive space of mass media.
Methodology. The research uses the linguistic synergetic method of discourse analysis which makes it possible to describe the synergetic evidential model and to identify the polymodal evidential semantics that characterize the analyzed discursive context.
Results. It is proved that evidentiality turns out to be semantically wider than the categories “authorization”, “perception” and “personality” and includes the meanings of these categories. Evidentiality also comprises / is complemented by the value of temporality, which makes it possible to identify interpenetration, complementarity or simultaneous implementation of the presented linguistic synergetic principles.
Research implications consist in the possibility to use the given linguistic synergetic evidential model to reveal the interaction of evidentiality with other modal categories, as well as to study the specifics of polymodal meanings representation in various genres of discourse.
