Abstract
The article concerns some specific
features of the functioning of proper names in folklore
texts. The emphasis is laid on the role personal
names play in representation of time within the
folklore-language picture of the world. Special examples
serve to illustrate the patterns of creation of
eponymic time with the help of the names of English
monarchs and national heroes
