The formation of the system of phonetic symbols
Abstract
The article is devoted to the origin of
phonetic alphabet and attempts to improve it. The
analysis of phonetic symbols used in numerous
modern dictionaries made it possible to reveal the
discrepancy in signs. Most arguable moments in using
phonetic symbols are viewed, typical mistakes
of students while working at the phonetic material
