В статье поднимается и освещается вопрос необходимости лингвистического анализа языка отдельной социальной группы для получения объективной характеристики группы и детального описания её социолингвистических особенностей. В качестве исследуемой группы выступает сообщество представителей хип-хоп культуры - сформировавшегося сравнительно недавно молодёжного движения. Проводится обзорный анализ зарубежного, в частности американского, опыта исследования подобных групп на стыке социальных и лингвистических дисциплин.

The necessity of linguistic analysis of the language used within a separate social group as the way to make an objective description of the group and detailed analysis of its sociolinguistic characteristics is explained in the .article. The subject of the research is the community of hip-hop culture - a youth movement that appeared a few years ago. Results of similar cross discipline -socio-linguistic - research conducted by foreign scientists, particularly American, are analysed.
