Языковые инновации отражают восприятие мира человеком и передают новые реалии окружающей действительности. Большинство новых лексем возникает по моделям, уже существующим в языке. Основными моделями остаются аффиксация, словосложение, аббревиатуры, а также изменения значений. Сдвиги в значении слов и появление новых лексем особенно заметны в современном английском языке и играют существенную роль в языковых инновационных процессах.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article deals with the problems of vocabulary enrichment in contemporary English. Language innovations reflect the person’s world perception and convey new realia. Most new words are formed according to models existent in the language. The main models are affixation, word-composition, abbreviation, as well as changing word meaning. Shifts in word meaning and “birth” of new words are particularly noticeable in contemporary English and they are of vital importance to language innovation processes.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>обогащение словарного состава</kwd><kwd>словообразование</kwd><kwd>семантика мышления</kwd><kwd>лингвосмысловые изменения</kwd><kwd>языковые инновации</kwd><kwd>расширение значения</kwd><kwd>аббревиатура</kwd><kwd>vocabulary enrichment</kwd><kwd>word-building</kwd><kwd>semantics of thought/conceptual semantics</kwd><kwd>lingua-conceptual changes</kwd><kwd>language innovations</kwd><kwd>expansion of meaning</kwd><kwd>abbreviation</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Большой англо-русский словарь (БАРС) / Под общим рук. докт. филол. наук проф.
