Цель. Статья посвящена выявлению трудностей практического перевода юридических терминов на другой язык и анализу причин появления переводческих ошибок.
Процедура и методы. При работе со специально отобранными аутентичными англо- и русскоязычными юридическими текстами применялись такие методы анализа эмпирического материала, как контекстуальный и контрастивный.
Результаты заключаются в обобщении и структурировании значительного массива данных, предлагается алгоритм межкультурной адаптации юридических текстов. Параллельно обосновывается необходимость проведения многоаспектного анализа культурологических особенностей страны изучаемого иностранного языка в рамках образовательного процесса с целью избежать возможных переводческих ошибок в дальнейшей профессиональной деятельности.
Теоретическая и практическая значимость. Автор развивает теорию культурного компонента значения, выявляемого при лексико-семантическом анализе терминологических единиц гуманитарных областей знания, и рассматривает трудности межъязыкового перевода юридической терминологии. В работе приводятся примеры переводческих ошибок при работе с юридической терминологией. Статья будет интересна преподавателям факультетов иностранных языков и переводчикам-практикам.
Aim. The paper describes difficulties of legal terminology translation practices, and analyzes the reasons of translation errors.
Methodology. The methods of contextual analysis as well as contrastive analysis were applied during the research based on selected authentic English and Russian law-specific texts.
Results. The work presents generalization and structuring of significant amount of data, an algorithm for cross-cultural adaptation of law-specific texts is also proposed. The need for carrying out a multidimentional analysis of cultural peculiarities of the country of the foreign language studied as part of the educational process, in order to avoid translation mistakes in further professional activity, is substantiated as well.
Research implications. The author develops the theory of the cultural component of meaning detected in the process of the lexical-semantic analysis of terminological units in the humanitarian fields of knowledge, and focuses on the difficulties of legal terminology interlingual translation. The paper presents examples of translation mistakes in legal terminology. It will be of interest to teachers of foreign language faculties, translators, practitioners.
