Цель исследования: выявить особенности проявления терминообразовательных способностей у древнегреческих корней с учётом семантического явления – консубстанциональности.
Процедура и методы. Основным исследовательским приёмом был выбран метод словарных дефиниций. Проведён анализ словарей, как общих толковых, так и отраслевых, переводных, узкоспециализированных. Материалом для исследования послужили лексические единицы, в структуре которых присутствует терминоэлемент греческого происхождения ФОБИЯ.
Результаты. Доказано, что терминоэлемент ФОБИЯ обладает высокой степенью терминообразовательной продуктивности, участвует в создании как терминов, принадлежащих разным отраслям научного знания, так и самостоятельных общеупотребительных слов.
Практическая и теоретическая значимость проведённого исследования определяется тем, что итоги работы могут расширить сведения о консубстанциональности в теории языка и в теории термина, а также обладают потенциальными возможностями быть использованными в практических курсах по общей лексикологии, терминоведению, языкам для специальных целей.
Aim. The aim of the study is to identify the features of the manifestation of term-formation abilities in ancient Greek roots, taking into account the semantic phenomenon of consubstantiality.
Methodology. The primary research method was dictionary definitions. Various dictionaries were analyzed, including general explanatory dictionaries, industry-specific dictionaries, translation dictionaries, and specialized dictionaries. The material for the study was lexical units, in the structure of which there is a term element of Greek origin PHOBIA.
Results. It has been proven that the terminological element PHOBIA has a high degree of termformation productivity and is involved in the creation of terms belonging to various branches of scientific knowledge, as well as independent commonly used words.
Research implications. The results of the work can expand the knowledge about consubstantiality in the theory of language and in the theory of terms, and also have the potential to be used in practical courses on general lexicology, terminology, and languages for special purposes.
