Целью исследования является определение характеристик терминов-метафор, используемых в англоязычном финансовом дискурсе, и особенностей их передачи на русский и французский языки.Процедура и методы. Фактическим материалом исследования послужили статьи финансовой тематики периодических электронных англоязычных, русскоязычных и франкоязычных экономических изданий, словарь финансово-экономических терминов и этимологический словарь. В ходе исследования использовался описательный, этимологический, лингвокогнитивный анализы, метод компонентного анализа с использованием обзора словарных дефиниций.Результаты. Сопоставительное исследование позволило установить особенности передачи англоязычных метафорических терминов на русский и французский языки с учётом семантических и когнитивных механизмов метафорообразования. Отмечена частота употребления метафорических высказываний и терминов-метафор в финансовом дискурсе для яркого и образного освещения событий и фактов. По итогам исследования была определена концептуальная сфера терминов-метафор, рассмотрена их этимология, обозначены способы передачи с английского на русский и французский языки.Теоретическая значимость состоит в определении нового подхода к изучению метафорического пространства на примере финансового дискурса в рамках англоязычных терминов-метафор и их передачи на русский и французский языки. Практическая значимость заключается в возможности применения результатов исследования в области терминоведения, дискурсологии, профессиональной иноязычной коммуникации.

Aim: To define the characteristics of metaphorical terms used in English-language financial discourse and the specifics of their translations into the Russian and French languages.Methodology. The empirical base of the study is the analysis of publications in Russian, English and French printed and online media, the dictionary of financial and economic terms and the etymological dictionary. The author uses the descriptive, etymological, linguocognitive and comparative analyses, and the method of component analysis through analysis of dictionary definitions.Results. Comparative analysis allowed us to establish the peculiarities of the translation of English metaphorical terms into Russian and French, taking into account the semantic and cognitive mechanisms of metaphor formation. The frequency of using metaphorical statements and metaphorical terms in financial discourse for vivid and imaginative coverage of events and facts is noted. The conceptual scope of metaphorical terms was determined, their etymology was investigated, and variations of their translations from English into Russian and French were identified.Research implications. The theoretical significance of the study lies in defining a new approach to the study of metaphors on the example of financial discourse within the framework of English metaphorical terms and their translation into Russian and French. The practical significance lies in the possibility of applying the research results in the field of terminology, discourse studies, professional foreign language communication.
