Цель: определение стратегии и приёмов передачи культурных смыслов при переводе романа «Сон в красном тереме» на русский язык.Процедура и методы. На основе использования сравнительно-сопоставительного и описательного методов, с привлечением элементов контекстуального анализа рассмотрены способы передачи названной лексики в русскоязычном переводе романа «Сон в красном тереме».Результаты. В статье в свете теории культурного перевода рассмотрены проблемы перевода с китайского языка на русский лексики с национально-культурным компонентом значения; определены переводческие стратегии и приёмы, использованные в русскоязычном переводе романа «Сон в красном тереме»; обоснована важность определения объёма культурного содержания единиц с национально-культурным компонентом значения, на конкретных примерах показана значимость учёта разноуровневых культурных факторов при передаче смысла названных единиц для адекватного выбора способа перевода.Теоретическое и/или практическое значение. Полученные результаты могут быть использованы при чтении курсов по переводоведению; также они могут быть полезны в практической деятельности переводчиков, работающих с текстами китайской литературы.
Aim. To define the strategies and techniques for conveying cultural meanings in the Russian translation of the novel “A Dream of Red Mansions”.Methodology. Based on the use of comparative and descriptive methods, with the involvement of contextual analysis elements, the ways of conveying the named vocabulary in the Russian translation of the novel “A Dream of Red Mansions” are examined.Results. In the article, in the light of the theory of cultural translation, issues of translating from Chinese to Russian vocabulary with a national-cultural component of meaning are considered; translation strategies and techniques used in the Russian translation of the novel “A Dream of Red Mansions” are identified; the importance of determining the volume of cultural content of units with a national-cultural component of meaning is justified, and the significance of taking into account different levels of cultural factors in conveying the meaning of these units is demonstrated through specific examples for adequate selection of translation methods.Research implications. The obtained results can be used in courses on translation studies and can also be useful in the practical work of translators working with Chinese literary texts.
