<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Aim. To identify the means of word formation in English for business communication which act as the most frequent and productive lexicological tools for constructing terminological neologisms.Methodology. The study relies on the methods of continuous sampling, lexicological and lexicalsemantic analysis, as well as the inductive method and the method of quantitative analysis. Study material is represented by examples of terminological neologisms registered in the articles of the British press and analysed using relevant research methods.Results. The study revealed that the prevailing number of terminological neologisms in English for business communication are formed via compounding (41.6%), derivation (22.3%), clipping (15.4%), blending (8.2%), abbreviation (7, 9%) and conversion (4.6%).Research implications. The article expands the theoretical framework of the previous research that put forward the fundamental provisions of terminology and neologisms study. The practical significance of the work lies in the use of the results of the study in teaching English, lexicology and other related disciplines.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>аббревиация</kwd><kwd>язык делового общения</kwd><kwd>заимствование</kwd><kwd>неология</kwd><kwd>словосложение</kwd><kwd>терминологический неологизм</kwd><kwd>терминоведение</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>abbreviation</kwd><kwd>language for business communication</kwd><kwd>borrowing</kwd><kwd>neology</kwd><kwd>compounding</kwd><kwd>terminological neologism</kwd><kwd>terminology</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Пивкин С Д Особенности употребления суффиксальной словообразовательной модели -ize/- ise в современном дискурсе английского языка // Вопросы прикладной лингвистики 2022 № 46 C 67–90 DOI: 10.25076/vpl.46.03</mixed-citation><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Pivkin S D [Featuring the use of the -ize/-ise suffix word-formation model in the modern multidimensional discourse as referred to the English language] In: Voprosy prikladnoy lingvistiki [Issues of Applied Linguistics], 2022, no 46, pp 67–90 DOI: 10.25076/vpl.46.03</mixed-citation></citation-alternatives></ref><ref id="cit2"><label>2</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Сибул В В , Куксова А В Communication during coronavirus: functioning of euphemisms in media coverage (Общение в эпоху коронавируса: функционирование эвфемизмов в медиа-дискурсе) // Вопросы прикладной лингвистики 2021 № 41 С 47–65 DOI: 10.25076/vpl.41.03</mixed-citation><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Sibul V V, Kuksova A V Communication during coronavirus: functioning of euphemisms in media coverage In: Voprosy prikladnoy lingvistiki [Issues of Applied Linguistics], 2021, no 41, pp 47–65 DOI: 10.25076/vpl.41.03</mixed-citation></citation-alternatives></ref><ref id="cit3"><label>3</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Сырескина С В , Орлов М М Влияние феномена заимствования на формирование английского языка // Агропромышленный комплекс: проблемы и перспективы развития: тезисы докладов всероссийской научно-практической конференции (Благовещенск, 15 апреля 2020 г ) Благовещенск: Дальневосточный государственный аграрный университет, 2020 С 243</mixed-citation><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Syreskina S V, Orlov M M [The influence of the phenomenon of borrowing on the formation of the English language] In: Agropromyshlennyy kompleks: problemy i perspektivy razvitiya: tezisy dokladov vserossiyskoy nauchno-prakticheskoy konferentsii (Blagoveshchensk, 15 aprelya 2020 g.)
