The article contains the comparative analysis of prosodic characteristics of informational radio texts of the middle of the twentieth and the beginning of the twenty-first century. Most of the works devoted to the subject describe only lexical and syntactical peculiarities of radio texts of the two concerned periods. The author focuses on those prosodic characteristics that determine the impact of radio texts.
