В статье на материале известного произведения А. Конан Дойла «Собака Баскервилей» рассматриваются проблемы, связанные с восприятием художественного текста на переводящем языке с точки зрения понимания читательской аудиторией словреалий. Отмечается, что на данный процесс влияет как выбранный переводчиком способ репрезентации указанного пласта лексики при передаче оригинала, так и степень «культурной осведомлённости» реципиентов по отношению к той действительности, которая отражена в последнем. Вместе с тем приходится принимать во внимание время создания того или иного перевода, что может отразиться на выборе способа воспроизведения реалии.
Problems connected with comprehension of a literary text in the translating language from the point of view of reader's understanding words-realia are analyzed in the article on the material of Arthur Conan Doyle's well-known novel The Hound of the Baskervilles. It's also stated that this process is influenced both by the translator's choice of the method of presenting this part of lexis while rendering the original and the degree of the recipients' cultural "awareness" of the reality reflected in it. Along with this, one should take into consideration the time the particular translation is done, since it may influence the way of rendering realia.
