В статье рассматривается вопрос о принципах создания современных переводов Священного Писания на английский язык. Особое внимание уделяется переводам Библии, созданным в так называемый новоанглийский период. Анализируются переводы Священного Писания, выполненные в XX в. и ориентированные на представителей различных гендерных и социальных сообществ. Отмечается, что созданные в XX-XXI вв. англоязычные версии Библии не всегда представляют собой полноценные переводы, а являются результатом редактирования и различной адаптации более ранних изданий
The present article deals with the problem of retranslation of the Bible into English. The artcle focuses on the versions created in the New English period. The author analyses modern translations of the Bible that were made in the XX- th century and that cater to special social and gender groups of modern society. The author claims that such translations are not altogether adequate since they mostly involve editing and adaptation of earlier versions of the text.
